Slate Product Disclaimer
Our products are handcrafted from natural slate. By purchasing from Foyle Engraving Co., you acknowledge and accept the following:
Natural Stone Characteristics
- Slate is a natural material and may display variations in colour, tone, texture and grain.
- Slight irregularities, minor markings and natural patterns are normal characteristics of stone, not faults.
- Colours may appear differently on screens due to monitor brightness, lighting or device settings.
Safety & Handling
- Slate can have naturally sharp edges and should always be handled with care.
- Slate is extremely fragile – similar to glass – and may chip, crack, splinter or break if dropped, knocked or handled roughly.
-
During transit, small fragments or chippings may break away naturally from the stone. These pieces can be sharp.
-
- Take extra care when opening your parcel.
- Open packaging slowly and keep hands clear of edges until all pieces are unwrapped.
- Ensure children and young people are kept well away during unboxing.
-
Carefully dispose of any small chippings or fragments as you would glass to avoid injury.
-
Slate products are not suitable for children or young people and should only be handled by responsible adults.
- Packaging materials such as foam, bubble wrap and protective paper/cardboard should also be kept out of reach of children and disposed of safely.
Size Tolerance, Thickness & Natural Variation
Slate pieces are supplied pre-cut by our manufacturer. While the length and width measurements remain consistent, natural stone will always vary in:
- Thickness
- Weight
- Texture and Grain
- Natural edges and contours
- Surface patterning
These variations are a normal characteristic of genuine slate and are not considered faults or defects.
Liability
- Foyle Engraving Co. accepts no liability for injury, damage or breakage caused by improper handling, accidental damage, misuse, weather conditions or unsafe installation after delivery.
-
Customers agree to handle slate items with appropriate care at all times.
